A commemoration program was held at his grave for the minstrel Aşık Mahzuni Şerif who lost his life on May 17, 2002. Kahramanmaraş Deputy Ali Öztunç, Aşık Mahzuni Şerif's son Ali Mahzuni, Hacıbektaş Mayor Arif Yoldaş Altıok, Aşık Mahzuni's relatives and representatives of non-governmental organizations attended the ceremony. The attendants laid flowers on Şerif's grave and prayed. Speaking at the ceremony, Hacıbektaş Mayor Arif Yoldaş Altıok said, "We wanted to organize an event worthy of Mahzuni father like last year. However, due to these measures taken because of corona virus epidemic, we are together at an event with low participation in a narrow framework. No matter how small our numbers are, I know this well; Mahzuni father is remembered in the hearts of millions. "We are still getting better and better understanding of how true what he said," he said. The program ended after the speeches.
