Contests on the Spirit of Independence Concluded

The winners of the adult poetry contest, the poetry contest between high school and equivalent school students, and the painting contest among secondary school students on the theme of "The Spirit of Independence in Kahramanmaraş", which have been organized as part of the 100th Anniversary Celebration Events held under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the liberation of Kahramanmaraş from the enemy occupation, have been determined.

Contestants from four different cities won the awards in the poetry competition held among adults. In the contest where there were 448 poems in adult category and Poet/Author/Academician Prof. Dr. Mehmet Narlı, Poet/Author/Academician Dr. Tacettin Şimşek, Poet/Author Duran Boz, Poet/Author/Educator Ramazan Avcı and Poet/Author Adem Turan served as the jury, the following poets entered the ranking:

   Türkiye’s First Award: Süleyman Aydemir, Dulkadiroğlu/Kahramanmaraş
   Türkiye’s Second Award: Rasim Yılmaz, Tokat
   Türkiye’s Third Award: Emre Genç, Alanya/Antalya
   Honorable Mention: Arif Odabaş, Başakşehir/İstanbul 

In the contest, where students from four different cities ranked; Poet/Author Celalettin Kurt, Poet/Author/Educator Ramazan Avcı and Poet/Author Ömer Yalçınova served as the jury, there were 234 poems in the high school and equivalent school students category, the winners are as follows:

  Türkiye’s First Award: Elifnur Çetin, Erdem Bayazıt Anatolian High School Kahramanmaraş
  Türkiye’s Second Award: Zeynep Aktaş, Hümeyra Ökten Girls Anatolian Imam Hatip High School Çukurova/Adana
  Türkiye’s Third Award: Elif Balcı, Şehit Muhammed Fazlı Demir Anatolian İHL Sultanbeyli/İstanbul
   Honorable Mention: Feride İpek, Mehmet Akif Ersoy Anatolian High School Ceylanpınar/Şanlıurfa

Painter/Faculty Member Ümit Parsıl, Painter/Educator Süleyman Fikirdeşici and Painter/Educator Melih Gemci served as the jury in the 100th Anniversary of the Kahramanmaraş National Spirit of Independence among secondary school students where there were 318 works competing, the winners are as follows:

  Türkiye’s First Award: Asilhan Rıdvan Purkaya,  Yunus Emre Secondary School  Onikişubat/Kahramanmaraş
  Türkiye’s Second Award: Merve Sunulu, Türk Telekom Secondary School Onikişubat/Kahramanmaraş
  Türkiye’s Third Award: Elif Nurefşan Bostancı, Zekeriya Tanrıverdi İmam Hatip Secondary School Onikişubat/Kahramanmaraş
   Honorable Mention: Abdullah Elcuk, Akçakoyunlu Secondary School Onikişubat/Kahramanmaraş
