Stating that as Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality, they attach importance to culture, art, sports and tourism activities, Mayor Güngör said, “Our municipalities can go beyond their scope of duty in case of disasters and emergencies and in sister city relations. I had the opportunity to travel almost all of our beloved lands. We believe that: More synergies arise from the cooperation of our institutions. The cooperation protocol we signed with the Yunus Emre Institute will make great contributions to the promotion of our city and our country, to carry out cultural activities, and to promote them both at home and abroad. Our Kahramanmaraş is an ancient city. These lands have seen many civilisations. The capital of many things. First and foremost, it is the capital of poetry and literature. We are organizing the "International Kahramanmaraş Poetry and Literature Week" for the first time this year to promote our Kahramanmaraş, which is the capital of poetry and literature, both nationally and internationally. With this protocol, we will have the opportunity to promote our events at an international level. Thank you to everyone involved. May it be good for our city.”

Attending the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Serdar Çam stated that the cooperation between institutions such as General Directorate of Foundations, Turkish Language Association, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, Turks Abroad and Related Communities, Yunus Emre Institute and local governments led to the emergence of new opportunities in domestic and international activities. Dr. Serdar Çam said: “A protocol was signed that will enable and lead our Kahramanmaraş to open up to the whole world in the fields of culture, art and education. Hopefully, this precious protocol, which we witnessed to be signed, will provide a much different opportunity for Kahramanmaraş to open up to the world with its riches.”

The signing ceremony ended with a family photograph and the presentation of gifts.
