Commemorated at His Grave on the 8th Anniversary of His Death

Abdurrahim Karakoç, one of the greatest poets of the last period, was commemorated with prayers at his grave on the 8th anniversary of his death. His family, relatives and loved ones gathered at Karakoç's grave in Bağlum Cemetery in Keçiören District of Ankara, read the Quran and prayed. Türk İslam Karakoç, son of Abdurrahim Karakoç, who stated that his father never changed his line, said, "Our pain and longing for my father is as alive as yesterday. We came together with our dear friends in the 8th anniversary. My father spent 80 years of his life on the Turkish nation and on the path of truth.

AK Party Deputy Chairman Mahir Ünal, in his speech, said that Karakoç is a great poet who interprets emotions and describes the human in his own language, saying, "I am devoted to my nation, the belief of one truth corrects a thousand curves."

Reminding that today is also the anniversary of the death of poet Cahit Zarifoğlu, Ünal said: "The value of names like these began to be known more than yesterday. Our appreciation will ensure that their words and feelings will be embedded in our children's souls. What we need is for the messages of Cahit Zarifoğlu, Abdurrahim Karakoç, Bahattin Karakoç, these people of emotion, to be embedded in our children. Because only then will our children become a part of our story. Otherwise, when our children begin to become a part of other stories, other minds, other cultures, and other identities, we lose them. That's why Abdurrahim Karakoç is so precious. Because the message he gave, the emotion he was in is an emotion that should be shared with our children as well.”

Karakoç's son, Türk İslam Karakoç, stated that his father devoted his life to the Turkish nation, in the way of truth and never changed his line, saying, "He wrote as he lived, lived as he wrote. He always stood upright. He always said what he knew was right." Expressing that future generation will continue to follow the works left by his father; Karakoç stated that the greatest legacy his father left for them is that people place them in their hearts. Karakoç thanked everyone who attended the commemoration program and prayed.
